Coyote Ugly may not have had any critical acclaim when it hit theaters in 2000, but that didn’t stop the chick flick from becoming a guilty-pleasure favorite. And even though the movie is a bit dated now, the sassy, cowboy boot-wearing ladies and the rest of the cast—not to mention the soundtrack featuring LeAnn Rimes’ “The Right Kind of Wrong” and Don Henley’s “All She Wants to Do Is Dance”—will always hold a special place in fans’ hearts.
So check out what these actors and actresses have been up to for the last 13 years—you just might be surprised!
Who was your favorite Coyote Ugly character? Let us know in the comments below.
Piper Perabo, Violet Sanford
Since starring as Coyote Ugly newbie and aspiring singer Violet Sanford, Piper Perabo has gone on to play the oldest of Steve Martin’s 12 kids in Cheaper by the Dozen (and its sequel) and a magician’s wife in The Prestige. She has since made appearances on television shows like House and Law and Order: Criminal Intent. You can now catch Perabo starring as CIA operative Annie Walker on USA’s Covert Affairs.
John Goodman, Bill
John Goodman hasn’t slowed down much since playing Violet’s stubborn but supportive and lovable dad, Bill. He’s guest-starred in TV shows like The West Wing as Speaker of the House Glenallen Walken and as Vice Dean Laybourne in Community, done voice-over work for kids movies like Monsters, Inc., The Emperor’s New Groove and The Princess and the Frog, and been in movies including the Academy Award-winning Argo. His latest big role is in frequent collaborators Joel and Ethan Coen’s forthcoming Inside Llewyn Davis.
Tyra Banks, Zoe
We’d almost completely forgotten Tyra Banks’ portrayal of bartender and bar-dancer Zoe. The former supermodel has managed to keep herself in the limelight despite not acting much. Banks has, of course, produced, judged and hosted 20 seasons of the fierce reality competition America’s Next Top Model, which is still going strong. She also recorded the single “Shake Ya Body,” hosted her own eponymous talk show, wrote a young-adult novel called Modelland and added a Harvard Business School management program to her résumé. What will the model/actress/singer/producer/author think of next?
Bridget Moynahan, Rachel
The alluring pyromaniac Rachel was just Bridget Moynahan’s fourth movie role. Since then, she’s acted in a handful of big-budget films, including The Sum of All Fears and I, Robot. Moynahan also appeared in a handful of television shows, most notably as Natasha on Sex and the City, and currently stars with Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg as a New York assistant district attorney in CBS’ Blue Bloods. And that’s not to mention having a baby with ex-boyfriend and NFL all-star Tom Brady.
Maria Bello, Lil
The biggest star to emerge from Coyote Ugly is arguably Maria Bello, who has worked pretty much constantly since the film came out. She’s starred in everything from A History of Violence and World Trade Center to The Jane Austen Bookclub and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. She also played lead detective Jane Timoney on NBC’s Prime Suspect and had a recurring role alongside Kiefer Sutherland in Fox’s Touch.
Adam Garcia, Kevin
We know all the ladies are wondering what happened to Violet’s persistent and goofy love interest, Kevin O’Donnell. Well, Adam Garcia starred in Riding in Cars with Boys alongside Drew Barrymore and worked with Lindsay Lohan in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. But his career hasn’t just been limited to chick flicks: He’s also made guest appearances on TV shows like Flight of the Concords and has a supporting role on NBC’s Camp.
Izabella Miko, Cammie
She may not be a household name, but it’s hard to forget Izabella Miko’s performance as the promiscuous blond bombshell Cammie. The Polish actress and classically trained ballet dancer has made guest appearances on several TV shows, including a three-episode stint on Deadwood in 2005 and as an acrobat on The Cape in 2011. She’s also had supporting roles in movies Clash of the Titans and Save the Last Dance 2.
