The Vermiglio Cocktail
About the Vermiglio Cocktail
This bitter-and-sweet cocktail calls for lots of shaking.
Ingredients in the Vermiglio Cocktail
- .5 oz Campari
- 2 oz Sauvignon blanc wine
- .75 oz Lemon juice
- .5 oz Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)
- .5 oz Elderflower liqueur
- .5 oz Egg white
- 1 dash Bitters
Glass: Pint
How to make the Vermiglio Cocktail
Add all the ingredients except the bitters to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake hard and strain into a pint glass filled with fresh ice. Top with the bitters.

It is important when using Campari that you put the Campari in AFTER the soda or other mixer BECAUSE the Campari is HEAVIER than the soda and it will mix better. If you put the Campari in first then the soda and stir to mix it up you lose a lot of the essence of the soda the the soda turns flat. Try it and you will see the difference. A well-known bartender taught me this. FYI
