Ingredients in the The President Cocktail

  • 1.5 oz White rum (such as Bacardi)
  • .75 oz Orange Curaçao
  • .75 oz Dry vermouth
  • 1 dash Grenadine

How to make the The President Cocktail

Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

(This recipe is adapted from The Savoy Cocktail Book by Harry Craddock, published in 1930. The drink is also known as the El Presidente.)

    Yes I´m a psychiatrist, born in La Habana Cuba, living in Caracas for the last 52 years. I´m 70 since lst week.
    Sorry for the mixologist. Presidente, as it was called in Cuba, is exactly what you virtually printed, but… no grenadine in it. My mother, also cuban but not drinking anymore since her death at 90, was a fan of Presidente.
