This whiskey drink was invented in Paris while the US suffered through Prohibition.
Ingredients in the Scofflaw Cocktail
- 2 oz Bourbon or rye whiskey
- 1 oz Dry vermouth
- .25 oz Fresh lemon juice
- .5 oz Grenadine
- 2 dashes Orange bitters

How to make the Scofflaw Cocktail
Add all the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
This drink is actually pink.
That all depends upon your grenadine. The artificially colored kind makes a pinker drink, but a homemade version has a subtler color.
Exactly. Don’t buy that Rose’s sh*t. If you have to buy grenadine, go to a good liquor store and pick up some Stirrings brand grenadine. Ideally, though, you should make your own at home. Same goes for simple syrup.
