is this named after the villa negroni in lugano switzerland ?
The drink is named after a Camillo Negroni, a Florentine count: http://www.nytimes.com/2002/10/06/style/shaken-and-stirred-dressing-italian.html
The Villa Negroni website says it’s named after a Count C.A. Negroni from Milan, who bought the place in 1910. The time period is right, but the city isn’t.
Either way, the Negroni cocktail is definitely not named for the Villa Negroni. However, both the cocktail and the villa may be named after the same man.
