No, the famed flag-maker Betsy Ross did not create this brandy- and port-based tipple. But it’s delicious nonetheless.
Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass and fill with ice.
Stir, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

As a port aficionado, this is one of my favorite cocktails to make at home. It's just enough off the beaten path to feel special, but it can be made out of relatively common ingredients. I'm looking forward to teaching this to a bar tender one day.
