About the Baldwin Apple Cocktail

This autumnal apple-brandy cocktail gets added depth from three different rich syrups.

Ingredients in the Baldwin Apple Cocktail

  • 1.5 oz Calvados
  • 1 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz Spice Syrup*
  • .5 oz Fee Brothers Falernum
  • .5 oz Fee Brothers Orgeat Cordial Syrup
  • 1 Egg white

Garnish: Nutmeg

Glass: Coupe

How to make the Baldwin Apple Cocktail

Add all the ingredients to a shaker. Shake briefly without ice to combine. Fill with ice, hard shake and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with grated nutmeg.

*Spice Syrup

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Star anise pod
  • 4 Cloves
  • 2 Cardamom pods
  • 4 cups Water
  • 3 cups Sugar

PREPARATION:

Add all the ingredients except the sugar to a large saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the sugar and simmer, stirring, for 5 minutes more. Remove from the heat and let stand until cool. Strain, and store in the refrigerator.
