THE SCENE:

If Frank Sinatra was still around, you can bet he would have loved Ambassador. The sumptuous, tufted black leather booths—complete with gold phones that let you discreetly call other tables and the bartender—seem like they were designed for the Rat Pack. But this retro bar and restaurant is no museum and has a 21st century vibrancy, including a roster of DJs. This also extends to the drinks menu, which is full of classically inspired cocktails, including the popular Ace of Spades (Hendrick’s Gin, cucumber, soda, lime) and the Full Boat (Belvedere Vodka, peach puree, sparkling wine). (For guests in the booths there’s bottle service.) Ambassador also offers comfort food—tater tots, sliders, mac ’n’ cheese—which tastes good at both the beginning and the end of a night.
