THE SCENE:

If you haven’t noticed, rum has suddenly become the spirit of the day. Bartenders are using the complex alcohol in a range of cocktails, and bars are stocking an ever-increasing number of brands. One of the best places to learn about the spirit is at the new members-only Caña Rum Bar in downtown Los Angeles. The establishment, whose clandestine entrance is in a parking garage, is run by expert bartenders Allan Katz and John Coltharp.
