Old Jamaican Rum Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 sprig Fresh mint
  • 1 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 1.5 oz Appleton Estate Reserve Rum
  • .75 oz Pure cane simple syrup (one part pure cane sugar, one part water)
  • 1 dash Angostura Bitters
  • Champagne
Garnish: Mint sprig Glass: Highball

PREPARATION:

In a shaker, gently muddle the mint and lime juice. Add the remaining ingredients except the Champagne and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice. Top with Champagne and garnish with a mint sprig.

    How much mint gets muddled? A sprig? It recommends a sprig for garnish, but nothing for the recipe.
