COCKTAIL RECIPE
Kyoto Sour
Contributed by Gekkeikan SakePosted Tuesday December 08, 2009
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 oz Gekkeikan Haiku Sake
- Fresh grapefruit
- Fresh Jalapeno pepper
- Fresh lemon juice
- Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water)

Okay, granted, I haven’t tried this one yet–and since I’m feeling under the whether, I won’t be able to for quite a few days… Is Haiku really the best sake for the job here? It sounds way too light to handle the bold flavors it is being asked to stand up to. (And what kind of grapefruit?)
I’ll try to remember to post a proper review in a few days. Maybe I’ll eat my words, but it sounds like a marketing ploy to sell more Gekkeikan Haiku. I mean, don’t get me wrong… I use Gekkeikan to make most of my sake-tinis, and I even prefer Haiku for the Hokkaido Cocktail. But since it WAS posted by the Gekkeikan people I feel a certain obligation to be skeptical.
