How to Cocktail: Summer

Today is one of our favorite days of the year. Seriously: Not only is it the official beginning of summer, but it’s also the longest day of 2013, which means there’s plenty of time for an extended happy hour.

And what better way to welcome the new season than by mixing up some delicious and refreshing drinks? To help you out, we just released our three latest How to Cocktail videos featuring top San Francisco bartender and advisory board member H. Joseph Ehrmann.

We filmed him at his Mission District bar, Elixir, demonstrating three classic recipes that everybody should know how to make. Watch the segments now and then start shaking!

After a few sips of this delightful concoction—a combination of cachaça, lime juice and sugar—you’ll be transported to the beaches of Rio de Janeiro.

Moscow Mule:

It doesn’t get more historic or tasty than the Moscow Mule. The simple tipple introduced vodka to the United States. It also calls for lime juice and ginger beer.

Pisco Sour:

This creation is so good both Peru and Chile claim it as their national drink. You’ll understand why after you fix this pisco, lime juice and egg white combo. It just might be the perfect brunch beverage.
