Kew Gardens Cooler

Cocktail: Kew Gardens Cooler INGREDIENTS: 2 oz Beefeater 24 Gin 5 oz Aperol .75 oz Grapefruit juice .5 oz Scarlet Glow Syrup* 2 Cucumber slices Garnish: Cucumber ribbon Glass: Highball PREPARATION: Lightly muddle the two thin cucumber slices in a cocktail shaker. Add ice  and shake briefly. Strain the mixture into a highball glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a cucumber ribbon. *Scarlet Glow Syrup Heat 1 cup of water on a stove top.  Bring to boil and add 2 tablespoons Scarlet Glow tea (hibiscus & elderflower tea, available through In Pursuit of Tea).  Let steep 1-2 hours, then fine strain the tea.  Add 1 cup sugar and stir to dissolve.  Place into airtight container and refrigerate.  Makes approximately 1.5 cups.  Should keep refrigerated for a week and a half.

Kiss

Cocktail: Kiss INGREDIENTS: 2 oz Gin .75 oz Sweet vermouth .75 oz Dubonnet Rouge .25 oz Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur Garnish: Apple slice  Glass: Martini PREPARATION: Stir all ingredients together and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an apple slice. Painted face not recommended.

Kiwi Kwencher

Cocktail: Kiwi Kwencher INGREDIENTS: Half a ripe kiwi, peeled .5 oz St-Germain .75 oz Simple syrup (one part sugar, one part water) Splash club soda 3-4 oz Brut sparkling wine Garnish: Kiwi slice Glass: Cocktail PREPARATION: Muddle the kiwi in a shaker. Add the simple syrup, St-Germain and ice. Shake until chilled and add a splash of club soda. Strain the mixture into a cocktail glass and top with sparkling wine. Garnish the drink with a kiwi slice.

Cocktail: Kyoto Sour INGREDIENTS: 3 oz Gekkeikan Haiku Sake Fresh grapefruit Fresh Jalapeno pepper Fresh lemon juice Simple syrup Garnish: Grapefruit slice and fresh mint sprig Glass: Cocktail PREPARATION: Muddle the grapefruit and fresh pepper in a shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients and shake with ice. Serve on the rocks and garnish with a grapefruit slice and fresh mint sprig. Sake isn’t just for sipping. Try this spicy cocktail.
